Don't let me die this way

Don't let me die this way

Please read the email from my friend below.  It is just another example of the horrible treatment these animals are suffering at the hands of humans.  Not only will this pup be in pain from his wound, but since he was surrendered by his owners, most likely, he will be drug into the room where they jab a needle into his heart to cause a heart attack.  No sedation will be used.
So, we have a dog that has been mistreated, neglected and now will be tortured.  This hell on earth for animals in Springfield doesn’t care because they know they are going to kill him anyway.  They care so little about animals that there is no way they are going to seek justice for his treatment by previous owners.
Why am I sending out this email?  To remind all of you that even though we don’t have a magical answer about Springfield, we must be reminded of their horrific treatment of animals.

Here’s another picture for proof of inhumane treatment and not seeking vet care for the animals that need it in the Springfield, MO animal control.
This dog has an open wound (maybe road rash?) on his head that could easily get infected if not treated. Pictures clearly show it.
And this dog it says was turned in by its owners apparently. Well, the owners should be charged with animal cruelty for nearly starving this dog to death! Is law enforcement getting involved in this situation? Did the shelter contact the authorities on this? I doubt it.
Hoping this evidence will help in some small way.

KC, MO//Abandoned bully breed youngster needs help ASAP!

My friend Jessica has this situation with her neighbors.  She thinks the dog is 2-4 years old and is willing to help pay for vetting, etc. but she needs a safe place for this guy to go.  I know everyone is full, but this guy could end up in the wrong hands if we can’t get him out of there.  Please read his story below.

Subject: Abandoned-Please Help!

Need foster home ASAP – will pay for neuter and vaccinations at Spay and Neuter KC. Please call 573-291-2083.

Three weeks ago someone tied this poor dog to the back steps of a vacant house next to us. He was stuck on a 3 foot rope and left with no food or water. He was so thin we could see his ribs and his spine. He would whine at us sadly when he saw us. We took over a dog shelter and put him on a 20 foot cable so he could move around. We have been giving him food and water every day and he has gained some weight back.

It has been three weeks and no one has come back for him. I believe whoever left him in this condition does not deserve to get him back. I will not contact animal control because I know his life would end there. I can’t be responsible for that. He deserves a good home and I am willing to help find him one, but I have no place to keep him. He was dumped in the yard of a foreclosed home and if the bank or whoever owns the house discovers him they will surely call KCMOAC. I would love to foster him myself because he is very sweet and I’ve grown attached to him, but I have 4 dogs of my own and several foster cats from NMHP taking up all my spare room.

I am contacting your organization because I believe that he is a pit bull and that no other rescue will take him. Let me know if I am wrong. He desperately needs a foster home. Even keeping him in someone’s garage would feel safer. This past weekend a car with four men stopped in the alley and they all got out to look at him. I walked over to ask if they knew anything about him and they claimed they did not speak english. They got back in their car and left quickly. I am now afraid someone might steal him for fighting or breeding.

I will pay for his neuter and vaccinations. I can take him to vet appointments and adoption events. I need a rescue to give him a foster home and adopt him to a safe family. I have read your internet page on finding homes for dogs and I feel that your organization would be better suited to screen applicants and choose the right place for him to live.

Please help me save this sweet boy!
