Friends of the Forgotten

Kansas City, MO//Urgent/Felix the orange cat

I’ve had zero responses. I know everyone is full and he isn’t that great with other cats BUT he is great with people and if he was seen and given the chance to be adopted, he’d make a wonderful pet! Can anyone take him into their rescue? Or know of a home for him?
The lady emailed me back and they are leaning toward euthing him!! They said they need an option for him now. If not, I fear they’ll put him down and that is so unfair.
Even if you could take him in a week or two…I’d hold him with me as long as I know he would have a place to go. I don’t have a real option to get fosters seen. He is healthy and ready to find his forever home. Let’s not let him die!!
PLEASE contact me ASAP. Thank you!!

Help!! Can anyone take this guy into foster care? I saw an ad for him on Craigslist and responded because it was just a few streets from me. They found this guy as a stray and took him in and vetted him. They were wanting to screen people and make sure he went to a good home so they were trying to do a good thing. I posted him on Petfinder for them and asked that they continue to foster him. Now, they say he needs to go ASAP or they will either turn him loose OR put him to sleep!! They’ve had him for 2 months. He needs to find a place to go ASAP!! Please consider taking him into your rescue/adoption program. He’d make a great pet! I have some other pics on my home computer. These were initial ones when they found him.

Hi! My name is Felix. I am a very handsome shorthaired male orange cat with striking yellow eyes. I am about 3 years old. I was once someone’s pet but then found myself outside wandering the streets. I may have gotten loose or I may have been abandoned. All I know is that my previous family has not looked for me or has not found me and now I am in need of a new, loving home that will keep me safe. I have had to fend for myself for awhile now and I am so happy to be back in a home, where I have food, shelter and love!

Let me tell you about myself. I am extremely good tempered. I am a love bug, desiring attention from people. I use my litter box perfectly and have never scratched the furniture. I am fine with dogs.  I am trying to get used to the other cats but seem to like being a solo cat.  My foster family says I am wonderful and would make a fantastic companion. I need someone to love. Could this be you? Give me a chance!

Felix is neutered, current on shots, dewormed, deflead, and negative for FIV/FeLV. If interested in adopting him, please email kimtou@yahoo.com

Subject: Fw: Disappointed in rescues. No Shade, No Water, NO Chance. Now he dies. Jonesboro GA

CLAYTON COUNTY – JONESBORO, GA

OFFICER PHILLIPS PLEADING FOR THIS BOY “BARNEY” – HE IS SO VERY SPECIAL – PLEASE COME & GET HIM TODAY – HE HAS SUFFERED ENOUGH – LET’S SHOW HIM WHAT A GOOD LIFE CAN? BE LIKE -

PLEEEZE CALL HER NOW? 770-477-3684

A Shih Tzu at this very shelter came in and was gone in 2 days. They received over 100 calls on her, and rescues literally fighting over the dog.  Barney has slept on a concrete floor for OVER a week, and may very well be on tomorrows kill table. The shih tzu of course deserved a chance, but Barney does too. He has the BEST personality, and has been through a lot of abuse, more than most dogs.  He requires less vetting as he has no physical injuries.  Because the Shih Tzu was CUTER, she is alive and sleeping in somebody’s bed.  Barney will spend his last night in a stinky, hot, hard floor shivering in terror tonight.  Tomorrow AM since no rescue has even called to see how he is doing, there is a good chance his life will be taken from him.  Officer Phillips may be able to spare him until tuesday, but i can not say for sure one way or the other.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call tomorrow AM @ 8 and save this dogs life.? He will be forever greatful.  It’s disappointing that this wonderful, young, shelter favorite dog will die because he is big.? He has the BIGGEST heart of any dog at Clayton county.

Barney is in a situation, no pet wants to be.  Sadly for him…he has a few strikes already against him.

He is big. 50-60 lbs

He is Black. (but has cute white markings)

He is in a HIGH kill Animal control

The animal control is VERY full.

He was tied out and abandoned… no owner is missing him :-(

His death date has already been set, and he is just basically waiting for it to come.

This being said, Barney still deserves to live. He is a special boy, who in 5 minutes captured they heart of an animal control officer who sees dogs every single day, abused, abandoned, neglected, and hopeless ones.  Officer Tiffany Phillips rescued Barney from a short chain, in 98*degree weather.  No Shade, No Water, No Life.  Officer Phillips rescued Barney from that situation, and knowing his chances of ever walking out of this animal control alive were slim to none, she gave him a hug, took his picture and put him in his kennel.

Barney’s euthanasia date should have been tomorrow AM, but he has gotten a 3 day extension.  PLEASE make it worth it!!!  If a rescue does not step up, he WILL be on the friday kill list, and a dog who loves people will never know love back.  Barney  is a VERY well manner boy, with a gentle, calm disposition.

He loves everyone, and walked into the Animal Control with his tail wagging and loving every pet on the head and treat Officer Phillips had to offer.
Please don’t let this happy dog who walked in the front door with his tail wagging, go out the back door as dead weight in a body bag.

Officer Phillips Comments:
Please save me, I was impounded by Ofc. Phillips because my owner had me chained up in the heat with no shelter. When my owner found out I had been impounded , he decided to leave me here ; (…Now I hope that I make it out alive… I am a big boy, but very sweet and gentle and did not deserve to be tied up like I was . Please help me find a better life with someone who will let me a member of the family. I am available now but it is urgent that I get out because they are very crowded…All animals adopted from Clayton Co Animal Control must be spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption. A low cost spay/neuter certificate will be issued to adopting families at the time of adoption. Rescues please have copy of Dept. of Aug. license and permission form if you are sending someone other than the license holder, also picture I.D. All animals posted are at risk to be euthanized at any time due to overcrowding under severe circumstances. All animals are considered urgent after their available date has passed. Please call or come in….Thank you…..

My name is Luis and I have been at Bladen County Animal Control for so long with no hope of ever getting out and now my time was up. Then yesterday someone saw my handsome face and called the volunteer to say they wanted to add me to their family. The volunteer pulled me from this high kill gas shelter and I was able to see the outside once again. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. I just couldn’t believe that I was finally getting out of that horrible place and that my second chance had finally arrived, in the nick of time no doubt. I was so excited I couldn’t stop wagging my tail thinking someone was going to give me my forever home. They even had me vetted so I’m UTD on all my shots, I’ve been neutered and I was leaving to go on transport to my forever home.

Then the unthinkable happened. They called back to say, they decided to get a different dog. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING??? THEY DIDN’T EVEN GIVE ME A CHANCE…….I’M WONDERFUL …..I’M HANDSOME, VERY CHARMING, I GET ALONG GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS AND KIDS, WHAT’S NOT TO LOVE? THEY GAVE UP ON ME BEFORE THEY EVEN KNEW ME.? I am well behaved, love car rides and chicken nuggets – I take them so very gently from our fingers! I am an easy going 18month old who needs your help! Please!!

NOW I MAY HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE SHELTER AGAIN AND THAT’S JUST NOT FAIR. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN SAVE MY LIFE? IF SO, PLEASE CONTACT SILVIA THE VOLUNTEER AT 910-876-0539 FOR MORE DETAILS or email Bladenpets@yahoo.com . I PROMISE I HAVE MANY YEARS OF LOVE LEFT TO GIVE SOMEONE…..JUST GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOU !!!
