Is Your Dog Afraid of Thunderstorms?

Picture this: As the skies darken overhead, an otherwise amiable dog is panting and pacing around the house with his tail tucked between his legs. When the first crash of thunder hits, he bolts into the bathroom and curls up tightly in the tub, where he remains, panting and trembling, until the storm passes. Sound familiar? Does your dog behave this way during storms? Not to worry, pet parents, the ASPCA has some advice for helping your pooch overcome his fear.

Kansas City, MO area two 10wk old chow pups

Subject: Kansas City area two 10wk old chow pups

These 2 poor babies are puppy mill surrenders, We have a wonderful guy here in Wichita who is working with the large scale breeders to take some of the poor dogs who can no longer breed and find them homes so they can finally be a loved pet, he also gets pups that due to medical issues they are not able to sell, these poor pups fall into that category. Mum chewed the toes off the little girls front 2 feet, and the boy had an infection in his eyes before they were even open so now he has ‘cloudy eyes’ he is able to see they are just not sure how much. They have both been treated and there should be no on going medical treatment required. They must be spoken for by early Friday as the breeder will bring them to Kansas city. If anyone has room for these 2 special babies please let me know asap! If i afraid there is no photo

Thank you

Please meet Olive, she is an older female listed as PRECIOUS!!!! She surely was a lovely companion dog, and does not deserve the fate that awaits her, years of loyalty, only to be dumped in a pound, sitting and waiting on a hot cement floor, until Tuesday, when she will be put down.
Olive is in a high kill shelter in Starke, Fl.  She is the oldest dog there, and surely the first to be put down!  She never had a chance once the gate closed behind her.
I am asking if anyone can save her, I will pay for her vetting and kennel cost, until you can pick her up. I foster for Bradford County Paws.
She only has till Monday night!
**Please email me ASAP!!  Eileen email: chicagohoney1@verizon.net
(at  verizon.net).
Thank you for taking time to read this, and if you can’t pull her for your rescue, or foster her, than say a prayer for her!   She needs a miracle.

Can you please forward this along to your list. I’m speechless. We have to get this boy to a safe and loving permanent home as quickly as possible to make up for the 10 years of hell he must have gone through!
Travis was brought to our shelter in a trunk, yes a trunk of a car! His “owner” didn’t want to get his car dirty, so Travis is now with us, receiving the most attention he has in his whole life!
Travis lived his life, since 8 weeks old, tied to a chain in the backyard. Now, 10 years old, Travis is finally free of his chain, but has trouble walking.
We have Travis on arthritis medication to help his hind end. He has the sweetest, most gentle personality, and would make someone very lucky to be around him. Travis is a beautiful black and tan purebred German Shepherd dog.

Subject: Fw: Disappointed in rescues. No Shade, No Water, NO Chance. Now he dies. Jonesboro GA

CLAYTON COUNTY – JONESBORO, GA

OFFICER PHILLIPS PLEADING FOR THIS BOY “BARNEY” – HE IS SO VERY SPECIAL – PLEASE COME & GET HIM TODAY – HE HAS SUFFERED ENOUGH – LET’S SHOW HIM WHAT A GOOD LIFE CAN? BE LIKE -

PLEEEZE CALL HER NOW? 770-477-3684

A Shih Tzu at this very shelter came in and was gone in 2 days. They received over 100 calls on her, and rescues literally fighting over the dog.  Barney has slept on a concrete floor for OVER a week, and may very well be on tomorrows kill table. The shih tzu of course deserved a chance, but Barney does too. He has the BEST personality, and has been through a lot of abuse, more than most dogs.  He requires less vetting as he has no physical injuries.  Because the Shih Tzu was CUTER, she is alive and sleeping in somebody’s bed.  Barney will spend his last night in a stinky, hot, hard floor shivering in terror tonight.  Tomorrow AM since no rescue has even called to see how he is doing, there is a good chance his life will be taken from him.  Officer Phillips may be able to spare him until tuesday, but i can not say for sure one way or the other.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call tomorrow AM @ 8 and save this dogs life.? He will be forever greatful.  It’s disappointing that this wonderful, young, shelter favorite dog will die because he is big.? He has the BIGGEST heart of any dog at Clayton county.

Barney is in a situation, no pet wants to be.  Sadly for him…he has a few strikes already against him.

He is big. 50-60 lbs

He is Black. (but has cute white markings)

He is in a HIGH kill Animal control

The animal control is VERY full.

He was tied out and abandoned… no owner is missing him :-(

His death date has already been set, and he is just basically waiting for it to come.

This being said, Barney still deserves to live. He is a special boy, who in 5 minutes captured they heart of an animal control officer who sees dogs every single day, abused, abandoned, neglected, and hopeless ones.  Officer Tiffany Phillips rescued Barney from a short chain, in 98*degree weather.  No Shade, No Water, No Life.  Officer Phillips rescued Barney from that situation, and knowing his chances of ever walking out of this animal control alive were slim to none, she gave him a hug, took his picture and put him in his kennel.

Barney’s euthanasia date should have been tomorrow AM, but he has gotten a 3 day extension.  PLEASE make it worth it!!!  If a rescue does not step up, he WILL be on the friday kill list, and a dog who loves people will never know love back.  Barney  is a VERY well manner boy, with a gentle, calm disposition.

He loves everyone, and walked into the Animal Control with his tail wagging and loving every pet on the head and treat Officer Phillips had to offer.
Please don’t let this happy dog who walked in the front door with his tail wagging, go out the back door as dead weight in a body bag.

Officer Phillips Comments:
Please save me, I was impounded by Ofc. Phillips because my owner had me chained up in the heat with no shelter. When my owner found out I had been impounded , he decided to leave me here ; (…Now I hope that I make it out alive… I am a big boy, but very sweet and gentle and did not deserve to be tied up like I was . Please help me find a better life with someone who will let me a member of the family. I am available now but it is urgent that I get out because they are very crowded…All animals adopted from Clayton Co Animal Control must be spayed or neutered within 30 days of adoption. A low cost spay/neuter certificate will be issued to adopting families at the time of adoption. Rescues please have copy of Dept. of Aug. license and permission form if you are sending someone other than the license holder, also picture I.D. All animals posted are at risk to be euthanized at any time due to overcrowding under severe circumstances. All animals are considered urgent after their available date has passed. Please call or come in….Thank you…..
